Quick answer: how to find your bra size

Measure firmly under the bust (band) and around the fullest part of the bust. The band rounded to an even number is your band size, and each inch of difference is one cup size. Band 32 in, bust 37 in = a 5 in difference = 32 DD (US) / 32 DD (UK).

Overview of the Bra Size Calculator

This calculator estimates your bra size from two measurements — the band (just under the bust) and the bust (at its fullest point) — in inches or centimetres. It gives your size in the US/Canada, UK, EU, France/Belgium/Spain and Australia/New Zealand systems and suggests sister sizes. A second tool converts a size you already know between regions.

Sizing is not standardised: the same label can fit differently between brands and styles, so use the result as a starting point and try on. Poorly fitted bras can cause discomfort, so a fitting by a trained professional is worthwhile. For other size conversions, see the Shoe Size Conversion.

How We Calculate Bra Size

The calculator follows the standard modern fitting method.

  1. Take the band measurement (underbust) and round it to the nearest even number to get the US/UK band size (28–46).
  2. Cup size comes from the difference between the bust and band measurements: about one inch (2.5 cm) per cup letter.
  3. Band sizes map to other regions: EU = 60 + 5 per step above 28, FR/BE/ES = EU + 15, AU/NZ = US band − 22.
  4. Cup letters follow the same cup volume across regions (for example US DD = UK DD = EU E).
  5. Sister sizes keep the same cup volume: go down a band and up a cup, or up a band and down a cup.
band = underbust rounded to the nearest even number
cup = bust − band (1 in ≈ 1 cup letter)

How to Measure

  • Wear a thin, unlined bra and stand straight with your arms relaxed.
  • Band: measure snugly around your ribcage directly under the bust, keeping the tape level.
  • Bust: measure loosely around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape level and not tight.
  • Measure to the nearest ¼ inch or ½ cm.
  • Check the fit: the band should be firm and level, the centre panel should sit flat, and the cups should hold the breast without gaps or spilling.

Bra Size Calculator — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate my bra size?

Round your underbust to an even number for the band, then subtract it from your bust measurement: each inch of difference is a cup size (1 in = A, 2 = B, 3 = C and so on).

How do I measure my bra size at home?

Measure snugly under the bust for the band and loosely around the fullest part of the bust. Use a soft tape measure and keep it level.

What is a sister size?

A size with the same cup volume but a different band — for example 34C, 32D and 36B are sister sizes.

Are bra sizes the same in every country?

No. Band numbers and cup letters differ between the US, UK, EU, France and Australia, though cup letters broadly align after DD. The converter shows each region.

What is the difference between US and UK cup sizes?

They match up to DD. After that, the US uses DDD/F, G and H while the UK uses E, F, FF and G.

Why do I wear different sizes in different brands?

Sizing is not standardised, so brand, style and fabric all change the fit.

How often should I re-measure?

Every six to twelve months, and after weight changes, pregnancy or breastfeeding.

What are signs of a badly fitting bra?

A band that rides up or digs in, straps that slip or dig, cups that gap or overflow, and a centre panel that does not lie flat.

Should I measure in inches or centimetres?

Either. The calculator converts automatically.

Is my data stored?

No. Everything runs in your browser.
