Add tax to a price, or find the tax included in a price.
To add tax: price × (1 + rate). ₹10,000 plus 18% GST is ₹11,800.00. To remove it: divide by (1 + rate) — ₹11,800 including 18% GST is ₹10,000 plus ₹1,800 tax.
Use this calculator to add sales tax or GST to a price, or to work backwards from a tax-inclusive price to find the price before tax and the tax amount. It also shows the tax split into two equal halves, as with CGST and SGST in India.
Tax rates differ by item, state and country, so enter the rate that applies to you — check the official GST rate schedule or your state's sales tax rate. For VAT-based systems use the VAT Calculator; to apply a discount first use the Discount Calculator.
The calculator applies the standard financial formulas step by step.
