Quick answer: when is my next period?

Add your cycle length to the first day of your last period. With a 28-day cycle that began on 1 January, your next period is expected on Thursday, 29 January 2026.

Overview of the Period Calculator

The Period Calculator predicts when your next periods will start and end for the coming 12 cycles, along with the ovulation date and fertile window of each. Enter the first day of your last period, your usual cycle length, the number of days your period lasts and your luteal phase.

Cycles typically vary by a few days. A typical cycle is 21–35 days and a period lasts 2–7 days. Talk to a doctor if your periods are very irregular, very heavy or painful, or you miss several in a row. See the Ovulation Calculator, Conception Calculator and the Pregnancy Calculator.

How We Calculate

The calculator applies the standard published formulas step by step.

  1. Day 1 is the first day of bleeding.
  2. Next period start = last period start + cycle length; repeat for twelve cycles.
  3. Period end = start + period length − 1.
  4. Ovulation = start of the cycle + (cycle length − luteal phase).
  5. Fertile window = 5 days before ovulation to 1 day after.
next period = last period start + cycle length
