About the Round Image Corners by Websolindia

Give photos and graphics soft, rounded corners for cards, avatars and app screenshots. Anti-aliased edges keep the curve smooth, and the corners become truly transparent. It is a free tool from Websolindia, a New Delhi website design and SEO company that builds fast, image-optimised websites.

Unlike most online image tools, this one does not upload your pictures. Your browser decodes each image, applies the edit with our own pixel code and shows a live preview before you download. You can process up to 30 images at a time and download them one by one or together as a ZIP.

Once your image is ready, you may also want the Circle Image Cropper Online, the Add Border to Image Online or the Add Watermark to Image Online. All of our free image tools are listed in the Image Editing Tools Online collection and the Websolindia Image Converter.

When to Use the Round Image Corners

  • App store screenshots, mockups and cards with rounded corners.
  • Profile pictures and thumbnails with soft edges.
  • Emails and slides where CSS border-radius is not available.
  • A single rounded corner for a tab or badge effect.

What to Watch For

  • Transparent corners need PNG or WebP. JPG cannot store transparency, so the corners are filled with a colour you choose.
  • A radius of 50% on a non-square image makes an oval, not a circle. Use the Circle Image Cropper Online for a true circle.
  • Large radii remove more of the picture's corners; keep important details away from them.
  • The radius cannot exceed half of the shorter side.

How We Process Your Images — Our Method

This is exactly what happens to your image, with no hidden step. You can check that nothing is uploaded by watching your browser's network tab while you use the tool.

How the Round Image Corners works, step by step
StepWhat happens
1. Read and decodeThe image is decoded.
2. Work out the radiusA percentage is applied to the shorter side: r = shorter side × p ÷ 100, capped at half the shorter side.
3. Measure each corner pixelFor pixels in a corner square, we measure the distance d from the corner circle's centre.
4. Set the edge alphaalpha × clamp(r − d + 0.5, 0, 1): pixels outside the arc become transparent, with a one-pixel anti-aliased edge.
5. EncodeSaved as PNG or WebP with transparency, or as JPG with the corners filled.

Round Image Corners — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I round the corners of an image?

Add the image, set the radius, and press Apply. Download the PNG or WebP to keep the transparent corners.

Why are my corners white in a JPG?

JPG cannot store transparency, so the corners are filled with the colour you choose (white by default). Use PNG or WebP for transparent corners.

How do I make a circle?

Set the radius to 50% on a square image. For a perfect circle from any photo, use the Circle Image Cropper Online.

Can I round only some corners?

Yes. Untick the corners you want to keep square.

Does rounding reduce quality?

No. Only the corner pixels' transparency changes; the rest of the image is untouched.

Can I add a border as well?

Yes. Add the Add Border to Image Online first or afterwards.

Is the Round Image Corners free to use?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, adds no watermark and has no daily limit. It is provided by Websolindia.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Your images are read and processed inside your browser on your own device. They are never sent to Websolindia or anyone else, which is why the tool is safe for private photos.

Does the tool keep EXIF and location data?

No. New files are created from the pixels, so camera details, GPS location and other embedded metadata are not copied. Keep your originals if you need that information.

How many images and how large can they be?

Up to 30 images per batch and 150 MB per image. Images above roughly 120 megapixels are declined with a clear message rather than freezing your browser.

Which browsers and devices does it work on?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on computers, phones and tablets. Large images and AI or AVIF features run faster on a computer.
